The Umuryango Children’s Network (Umuryango) is a christian nonprofit organization–built on the core values of accountability, service and Christian love–that attacks systemic poverty by placing homeless street children in a nurturing Christian entourage that equips them to become fully integrated productive members of the society . Umuryango sets itself apart by offering a distinctive, integrated, holistic approach to solve the problems that face the poor and homeless, street children.
The founder, Yohani Kayinamura believed that he wasn’t the most qualified person to started Umuryango, he believed it was his life purpose and divine calling to help underprivileged, abandoned and homeless children. This conviction motivated him to use his family resources in order to initially found Umuryango.
From its humble beginning, Umuryango has grown and evolved into a christian organization that fulfills its mission through partnership with friends who are given an opportunity to positively impact lives. Umuryango has been successful in carrying out its mission primarily because of continuously seeking God’s guidance and working with its partners to collectively develop home-grown solutions in order to effectively adapt and respond to local realities.
