DESCRIPTION:we are thrilled to share a heartwarming update from the children raised and supported by Umuryango Children’s Network. Last month\, we held our annual reunion\, inviting the community to join us in celebration. We shared meals\, reconnected with old friends\, and made new friends among our younger and older children. It was especially touching to see new children meet their ‘old brothers’ and the children of our former graduates (grandchildren who are loved and cared for)\, showcasing the lasting impact of our mission. \nAs we close this update\, we are filled with immense gratitude for your unwavering support and prayers. Your generosity and faithfulness continue to light the way for our shared mission. Let us rejoice in the blessings and victories we’ve witnessed\, and look forward with expectant hearts to the wondrous plans God has in store. SUMMARY:Summer Trip Reflection
DESCRIPTION:We have just returned from our 3rd trip to volunteer at Bright Future Academy. This year we taught games and dance for a few days at the summer English Camp. Two young women from Florida were there for the entire camp. They taught the teachers recreational activities to encourage the students to speak and listen to English. We always find the students a joy to work with! \nOne thing we were very excited about was the progress being made on the construction of the secondary school! The basement level you see in the video below will be in one half of the school since it is built into a hillside. This foundation was dug\, BY HAND\, meters down into the ground. I asked why they hadn’t used heavy equipment and Jean Paul gave me two reasons: 1). The noise from the equipment would have very much disturbed the students and teachers during the school year\, making teaching impossible and 2). It provided much needed jobs for 100+ workers. \nWe saw cement is being carried on the heads of a parade of women from the mixing site down to the trenches. It will take up to 2 years to complete the whole building. The first P6 graduates from Bright Future Academy\, will unfortunately have to attend other secondary schools for the upcoming school year. \nThe construction has begun and by God’s grace in raising the remaining funds\, the school will continue to provide construction jobs and Bright Future Academy will continue to provide a quality education to the students in Rwanda as well as help the Umuryango children. We pray that God opens your heart to donating to the completion of the school in whatever way you feel led.

SUMMARY:Mission Trip and Graduation
DESCRIPTION:This summer\, we had two incredibly dedicated teams. For both groups\, the mission was simple yet profound: to spread love\, joy\, and hope to the beautiful children who have once felt abandoned and despised. Through their big hearts and your generous support\, we believe the mission was accomplished. The teams impacted the kids in a way that has fueled hope\, and ignited positive change in them. \nOne of the most rewarding aspects of the mission trip was the opportunity to minister and build strong and lasting bonds with the children. The team played games\, shared stories\, and created art together. Witnessing the kids’ smiles and hearing their laughter brought immense joy to our hearts. \nWe believe in the power of education to break the cycle of poverty. As much as fun and enchanting the team members were\, everything they did added so much value to our educational endeavors. They played with our kids\, taught\, tutored\, gave presentations\, and provided much-needed school supplies to them. \nWe had our first ever summer camp with over 150 students! The campers were able to engage in a variety of educational\, recreational\, and character-building activities that expanded their horizons and nurtured their talents. Our intern Alyssa\, the teachers and the team helped create an inclusive and empowering environment that encouraged camaraderie\, personal growth\, and self-discovery!
